my world stopped and started
you existed in the dark secret of my being
and you entwined yourself into my heart
and i knew i was captured forever
i love you
deeply
fiercely
overwhelmingly
and it is bittersweet
i see the little girl who's first word was "hi"
who knew the sound a puppy would make
who cuddled with her white blanket every night
and i see the young woman you are
and i am in awe of your grace
and your beauty
your strength
and your courage
and i am mystified
how you came from me
but i am so glad
